Looking down into what I think is Cottonwood Canyon.

  1. The pictures are beautiful, yet I would venture to guess that they pale in comparison to actually being there & seeing it. Glad to know that you are doing better. Blessings to the Danielson family for giving you a treat! Love you!

  3. Hi everyone,
Thought I'd update you with news from the trail. Ryan's Blackberry has died and his feet have "blown out", so as he posted a couple days ago, Mom sent him some different shoes. He's planning to make it to Warner Springs by Thursday where Mom shipped everything. She also sent him 3 days' supply of food per his request. His next big stop will be Idyllwild, where he plans to resupply.

We won't be hearing from him before Thursday for sure, so until then, keep praying for him & his safety.

How did Mom hear from him yesterday? He borrowed a phone from someone he met. So there are other people out there. At least he's not totally alone.

Ryan reminded Mom on Mother's Day to keep telling people about his cause. Remember, a one time donation of $26.58 is all he asks - one penny for every mile of the trail. A thousand people donating will help him reach his goal of $10/mile. Please consider helping this very worthy cause. Most, if not all of us, have been touched personally by cancer in one form or another.

    Thanks!

  4. In light of Kristin's comments above and in response to your voicemail yesterday, Ryan, once more I prayed. This is one of the scripture prayers from the book ("Praying God's Will For My Son, by Lee Roberts)- grouped under the subject "Troubles" - that I prayed for you 5/11/09 -
Psalm 31:7-8: "I pray that my son will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered his trouble. You have not shut him up into the hand of the enemy; You have set his feet in a wide place." Can't get much "wider" place than the wilderness. :) I've used this book as a partial guide for my prayers for you since I received it as a gift from your Aunt Lori on Mother's Day, 1999: through your senior year of college (99); your bout with cancer (05) and now this trek. (It's adaptable for your sisters needs, too!)
